SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – 26 May 2010 - UXC Getronics Australia today announced the completion of its integration into the UXC Group with the launch of significant changes to its client service offering and a re-branding of the company. The new entity, UXC Connect will specialise in the delivery of ICT services and Integration solutions for business sustainability and will leverage the entire UXC group of ICT companies.
Services and Consulting Focus
UXC Connect will invest 27,000 man hours between 2010 and 2014 in the transformation project, as well as $1 million in systems, training, methodologies and recruitment. UXC Connect Managing Director, Paul Timmins, believes the new brand reflects the company’s focus on connecting IT with its customers’ business outcomes. “Having been part of the UXC Group since February 2008, we felt we could fill a gap in the systems integrator market by developing stronger services and consulting capabilities,” said Timmins. “We’re offering our clients a more business oriented customer experience through the introduction of rigorous processes and refocused SLAs and introducing new specialisations around the delivery of business sustainability, particularly in the areas of critical infrastructure and Green IT. UXC Connect is working towards accreditation in the ISO14001 Environmental Management framework in September this year, which will make us one of the first ICT Companies in Australia to achieve this standard.”
New Win: Tomago Aluminium
Following its restructure and transformation UXC Connect today also announced winning the Tomago Aluminium contract to provide an End to End Service Delivery solution. This win is the first UXC end to end outsourcing deal to encompass an ERP system, and represents the first account win under UXC Connect’s new business offering.
“The program proposed by UXC Connect demonstrated its technical skills, attention to detail and presented a multi-level engagement and access to key team members across the organisation,” said Christine Cameron, IT Manager, Tomago Aluminium. “UXC Connect stood out from the crowd with its energy, enthusiasm and innovation as well as the obvious commitment of the entire organisation to winning the business. The focus on cultural fit and mapping the IT solution to our business objectives are the reasons Tomago decided to partner with UXC Connect.”
Technology Systems Upgrade
UXC Connect’s transformation project has seen it review, expand and update its Management Information Systems to support improved operational efficiency, including improved process maturity and integration. These improvements have been implemented through the use of tools and processes such as Prince II for Project Management, ITIL Version 3, a standardised engagement management approach and the introduction of an innovative pricing structure based on a risk-reward approach.
Central to UXC Connect’s transformation is also the development and execution of a new multiyear customer strategy and the training of its sales staff. To achieve this UXC Connect engaged consulting firm Aspire Group which will continue to work with UXC Connect through the delivery of sales training, workshops and the development of new processes which will support its new approach.
