UXC Connect Unveils First Australian Managed Service for HD Serveillance

29-Jun-2011 11:29 AM

Sydney, Australia - 8 December 2010 – UXC Connect today announced the launch of the first High Definition IP Video Surveillance managed service offering in Australia.

UXC Connect has entered into a new partnership with EMC to deliver an enterprise-class storage platform for SANYO’s innovative full HD network megapixel cameras and Geutebrück’s proven image management software. In addition, UXC Connect has constructed a dedicated Secure Area certified Video Management Centre (VMC) for customers wanting to fully, or partially, outsource their security surveillance operations.

Richard Ellison, UXC Connect’s Business Solutions Manager for Managed Services, commented on the new offering: “The transition to a high definition IP enabled surveillance platform is not an easy one for the Security Office to undertake in isolation, nor is it easy for the IT division. This is the reason we have established a consortium which sees us as the industry’s central enabler to help Australian business with this exciting, yet complex challenge.”

“UXC Connect is proud to have formed this alliance and to be able to offer this best-of-breed HD IP Video Surveillance solution as a managed service to our customers”, Ellison said.

According to Mark Oakey, EMC’s Storage Market Manager, this new alliance has been formed in response to a shift towards IP technology in the security surveillance market by using state-of-the-art technology and delivery mechanisms, such as cloud computing.

“Every day we see customers and partners turning to the cloud for efficient, dynamic and scalable IT solutions and with the help of UXC Connect’s cloud-based solution, this alliance will provide Australian businesses with a comprehensive security surveillance solution offering significant benefits, including: improved security analysis; operational efficiency improvements; secure data storage management and reduced operational cost.”

In welcoming the new relationship, Fraser Larcombe, SANYO’s IP Solutions Manager, said, “SANYO is very pleased to be part of this strategic alliance that offers a best-in-class security surveillance solution to help Australian organisations more effectively combat security issues.”

Geutebrück Pacific’s Anthony Brooks said “Our partnership with UXC Connect and EMC is important as it represents a collaboration of world-class solutions all wrapped in a managed service environment. Using this proven technology reduces risk whilst increasing surveillance effectiveness”.

The new managed HD Video Surveillance offering utilises each vendor’s state-of-the-art technology, including:

  • EMC’s enterprise-class Celerra Storage platform, cost-effectively scales the solutions as security requirements grow, with industry-leading reliability, availability, scalability and storage-based functionality. For the remote office, Iomega StorCenter is certified for UXC Connects’ solution and provides affordable and outstanding storage, capacity, flexibility and performance.
  • SANYO’s IP-66 rated vandal proof domes. This full HD IP network camera can provide high definition video monitoring at 1920 x 1080 resolution, as well as sharp and vivid 4-megapixel MJPEG images. The result is a significant improvement in detail during video monitoring. The camera’s motion sensors detect changes in movement within the images allowing the system to be set to begin recording or issue an alarm. The cameras also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), making it possible to use Ethernet cables (category 5 or higher) to supply power, eliminating the need for power supply work.
  • GEUTEBRUCK’s GeViScope Software Platform. A sophisticated, enterprise-grade surveillance system. Modular in design, managing a wide range of demands and complex processes with ease. Intelligent video analysis algorithms expand the functionality, including comprehensive alarm management of both analogue and HD video. Providing reliability and speed, flexibility and Interoperability.

The Managed High Definition IP Video Surveillance solution will be available from late January 2011.
